Personal Care Aide
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- At least 18 years of age or older
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience
- Certification as a nursing assistant preferred
- CPR certification preferred
- Must submit to a drug test and background check if hired
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or assist with preparing light meals and eating for patients
- Communicate with patients, families, co-workers, and supervisors regarding care
- Use effective interpersonal skills with patients, including listening and good verbal skills
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, washing dishes, sweeping, keeping areas clean, and vacuuming
- Assist with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and hygiene activities
- Maintain and document proper care records
- Assist with transferring, toileting, and mobility in the home
- Maintain a safe and healthy home environment for the patient
- Follow the appropriate care plan for the patient
- Run errands for patients
- Report any issues or concerns regarding patients to Supervisor
- Attend appropriate training related to job
- Engage in and maintain positive social interaction with patients
